Plateau Café Couple Session in Montreal, Quebec
Aggie and Maddi had been together for around a year, and their families had started to ask for photos of them together! I loved both their families’ support of their relationship as a LGBTQIA+ couple, and thought that was such a sweet reason that they came to me for a photo session. Of course, their main goal was to start a romantic tradition of doing an annual couple session, and they were excited that their first one would be in the winter! The snow, ice, rosy cheeks and then the warmth of the café we ducked into gave the session so much character.
I loved the little details like their piercings and rings, and the complimentary jackets they wore set against the colourful paint of the Plateau apartments we walked past. They naturally laughed and danced through the wintry streets, with minimal prompts and suggestions from me. We got to know each other a bit as we went, Aggie telling me about her job in an artist collective and Maddi about her job as a cook.
We ended the session at night with flash, festive street lights and an outdoor thrift store after we left the café and walked toward the metro. This was a gorgeous session!
